

Reducing Exposures to Reverse Rates of Chronic Disease
About the Program
The Lowell Center formed the Environmental Health Program (EHP) in 2004 to help organizations better understand the links between hazardous exposures in workplaces and communities and human health. The overall goal is to identify actions that will prevent illnesses rather than simply treating them.
As part of UMass Lowell’s School of Health and Environment, the Lowell Center works collaboratively with staff, faculty and students to develop programs and policies that prevent environmental exposures.
Led by Dr. Polly Hoppin, the Environmental Health Program provides leadership, technical support, research and analysis to support organizations in two primary areas:
