For nearly a decade, the Chelsea Center for Recycling and Economic Development conducted many innovative research projects that supported the goal of creating a sustainable materials economy in Massachusetts. In such an economy, businesses will thrive that rely on locally discarded goods for their raw materials.

Unfortunately the Chelsea Center closed in July 2003. However, it is still possible to gain access to its many reports and technical resources online.
